Leadership Alignment with Strategy

Description: Business Unit had an overall goal to double their business in five years with a strategic plan to support the goal. The new leader wanted to introduce changes into the culture with the pre-existing management team. The project included assessing the current culture, identifying the desired culture, and translating this into the required leadership competencies to drive the new culture. The Leadership team was then assessed using 360 degree feedback against those competencies. Development plans and goals were completed to ensure the leaders’ behaviors were aligned with the vision for the future.

Leadership Development Focused on Employee Satisfaction and Retention

Description: As part of a regular employee survey, employee satisfaction issues were surfaced that were linked to an excessive turnover pattern in this business unit. Research into the underlying issues identified the supervisory relationship and skill as the number 1 issue in employee satisfaction, leading to employee turnover. Specific skill gaps were identified. A training plan was developed to target these specific skills. The management team was the primary project implementation team, coached by the consultants, to manage and lead the process, modeling the skills being taught.

Group Development and Leader Coaching to Transform Sales Department

Description: Sales department had been below desired performance and was suffering from employee morale issues, increased employee relations complaints, and increased turnover. The leader began receiving external executive coaching, along with internal coaching, on developing and improving the relationship and performance of his sales team. Specific gaps were identified, and various group interventions targeted at closing the gaps were implemented over a 9-month period. Over this period of time, the leader’s effectiveness with his team improved dramatically, with his managers taking on more and more responsibility, along with the team becoming more proactive and participative. Employee morale improved dramatically, corresponding with increase in effectiveness driving the team to be the top sales generator in the Division.
